Making Peace

Need to make peace, to emit an energy of softness and simple beauty with all that’s happening in the world right now….back in Jamaica after a short fortnight in Ireland, and whether there or here it’s news of murdering mayhem all about. Nigerian women and children, slaughtered by the thousands, and 10 year old girls used as suicide bombers. Cartoonists and journalists taken by the gun, their killers two orphaned and marginalized young men. The journalists’ deaths protested by heads of state who themselves order the deaths of other innocents. The sadness is so deep, so multi-layered, and all so preventable. If only everyone had a decent living space, a loving family, a passion, and work they love, there’d be none of this.

So in honor of those who suffer so needlessly I offer soft paintings of gentle flowers….
